Things to do in Trébago

Moncayo Natural Park protects more than 11,000 hectares of the Iberian mountains. Hiking trails wind through the park and take you through dense beech, oak, pine and juniper forests. Watch for wild boars foraging in the woodlands and golden eagles soaring overhead.

At more than 2,300 metres above sea level, San Miguel is the highest peak in the Moncayo Massif. A well-marked trail starts at the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Moncayo and takes you up to the summit, where you can take in panoramic views over the mountains.

Monasterio de Veruela dates back to the 12th century and recalls the region’s ancient past. Strolling around the Cistercian abbey, you’ll be impressed by the beautiful Gothic cloisters and soaring rib vault ceilings. A small museum charts the history of winemaking in the region, which was introduced to the region by Cistercian monks living at Monasterio de Veruela.

If you love wine, don’t miss the chance to sip your way through the Garnacha Wine Touristic Route, which connects dozens of villages and vineyards in the area. Grenache wine has been bottled in the region for centuries and will win you over with its fruity profile and hints of cinnamon.
