About Primosten

Primosten is a postcard-perfect village set on the Adriatic coast. Cobbled streets, historic architecture and fortifications built in the 16th century give Primosten a fairytale-like feel. You’ll love browsing artisan gift shops, watching live music in the sun-drenched main square and dining at al fresco restaurants. The walk up to St George's Church rewards you with sweeping views over the village and the shimmering Adriatic Sea.

A short drive from the village, Velika Raduca Beach boasts shallow, crystalline water. Claim a spot on the pebble beach or splurge on a beach chair and umbrella. Mala Raduca Beach is another great place to sunbathe, swim and enjoy the beautiful Primosten peninsula.

Primosten offers an excellent selection of atmospheric cafes, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Local favourites include black risotto flavoured with squid ink, “brudet” Croatian seafood stew and “soparnik” pie filled with Swiss chard and onions.

Getting there

Primosten is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot. A causeway links Primosten to the Croatian mainland. The village is a one-hour drive from Split and 1.5 hours from Zadar while local buses run to Split in around one hour. Split Airport is a 45-minute drive away.
